Kassan’s Story
In 1994 Kassan Messiah, a 29-year-old up-and-coming professional boxer, was convicted of a murder he didn't commit. He was sentenced to 37-and-a-half years in prison, and has served 30 years. Despite being incarcerated, Kassan has been a strong father, husband and community leader.

“While I feel my human life has been disregarded by a justice system I hoped would protect me, I’ve chosen to continue to embody love and morality because I refuse to allow my humanity to be tainted by a gross systemic error. With the support of my family, I remain mentally sound and prepared to have a positive impact within society upon my release.”
